D-Lab Outreach Strategist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and organized graduate student to join our team as a Part-Time Outreach Coordinator. This role involves scheduling our orientation and outreach efforts across various departments, ensuring effective communication and high levels of accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a knack for organizing, motivating people, and managing multiple tasks efficiently. 

Key deliverables will include a plan to engage various departments in the new academic year, creating a contacts list across departments, design of flyers and banners and scheduling our orientation to new department admits across our campus colleges. 

The ideal candidate will have ideas on how to achieve these strategies and thereby be self-directing with a weekly check in meeting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule orientation and outreach programs to enhance departmental collaborations.
  • Maintain regular communication with internal team members and external department representatives to ensure clear and effective outreach.
  • Compile and manage a detailed list of faculty and instructors targeted for regular communication to promote our workshops and initiatives.
  • Assist in developing marketing strategies and managing social media campaigns to increase engagement and awareness of our programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

D-Lab consultants perform all of the following functions:

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student and will be enrolled in the fall of 2024

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with both internal team members and external contacts.

  • Experience in administrative roles that required organization, attention to detail, and the management of multiple tasks or schedules

  • Experience in planning, organizing, and executing outreach or engagement initiatives, particularly in an educational or community settings.

  • Demonstrated ability managing projects, including planning, executing, tracking project progress and communicating progress back to your team

  • Hands-on experience with social media strategy and content creation, demonstrating an ability to effectively use these platforms for outreach and engagement.

A Plus

  • Experience in compiling and managing lists, databases, or reports, related to tracking engagements, responses, or feedback from outreach efforts.

  • Experience in marketing with higher ed
